Nintendo
has revealed plans for back-to-back game presentations on August 27, featuring both indie and partner titles for the Nintendo
Switch
. The company will stream an
Indie World Showcase
followed immediately by a
Nintendo Direct
:
Partner Showcase
, with the combined presentations lasting approximately 40 minutes.
The event will begin at 7 AM PT / 10 AM ET on Nintendo's official YouTube channel.
While specific games have not been announced, the showcases are expected to highlight upcoming
third-party
and independent releases for the Switch platform.
Sadly, there will be no mention of the rumored Switch successor during either presentation. The company has previously indicated that a new Switch console is unlikely to launch before April 2025.
The Indie World Showcase typically features smaller-scale games from independent developers, often including surprise same-day releases. The Partner Showcase will focus on titles from major third-party publishers and developers working with Nintendo.
This dual presentation follows Nintendo's major first-party game announcements from June, which included reveals for new entries in the Mario & Luigi, Legend of Zelda, and Metroid Prime franchises.
Highly anticipated titles like Team Cherry's Hollow Knight: Silksong could make appearance at the showcase, though no confirmations have been made.
