Google may integrate Gemini AI chatbot into Pixel Buds Pro 2

Google's Gemini AI may soon be integrated with select earbuds as the company plans to include the chatbot into more form factors beyond the web and phones. This will enable users to access the tech giant’s AI chatbot without needing a paired smartphone. Google has been steadily expanding its in-house AI chatbot and most of the company’s apps already feature Gemini tools.

Now, the company may be looking to extend this integration to more devices. Moreover, Google is also rumored to launch the Pixel Buds Pro 2 alongside the Pixel 9 series later this month which may be the first ones to arrive with the Gemini assistant .

Gemini may arrive for earbuds that support Google Assistant

According to a report by 9to5Google, Google may soon allow users to access Gemini directly through earbuds that support Google Assistant
In February, after the company launched the AI assistant on smartphones, we learned that the “Gemini mobile app is working on expanding availability to make it accessible on your headphones.”
Evidence discovered in the Google app version 15.31 reveals how users can “Talk to Gemini on earbuds.” The app includes this code string:
<string name=”assistant_bisto_gemini_on_buds_notification_text”>Your new AI assistant is on headphones</string>

The references to "buds" in the strings may be significant, especially with the Pixel Buds Pro 2 which are expected to be launched soon.
The report didn’t disclose the software features for this upcoming wearable and didn’t specify whether existing headphones that support Google Assistant will receive Gemini integration.
Earlier this year, Google confirmed that Gemini is coming to the Pixel Tablet . The latest beta update also includes the following string: “Gemini is a new AI assistant on your tablet. Get help learning in new ways, planning events, writing thank you notes, and more.”
The report also added that “some features, like Extensions, aren’t available in Live yet.”
