According to a report by 9to5Google, Google may soon allow users to access Gemini directly through earbuds that support Google Assistant
In February, after the company launched the AI assistant on smartphones, we learned that the âGemini mobile app is working on expanding availability to make it accessible on your headphones.â
Evidence discovered in the Google app version 15.31 reveals how users can âTalk to Gemini on earbuds.â The app includes this code string:
<string name=âassistant_bisto_gemini_on_buds_notification_textâ>Your new AI assistant is on headphones</string>
The references to "buds" in the strings may be significant, especially with the Pixel Buds Pro 2 which are expected to be launched soon.
The report didnât disclose the software features for this upcoming wearable and didnât specify whether existing headphones that support Google Assistant will receive Gemini integration.
Earlier this year, Google confirmed that Gemini is coming to the Pixel Tablet . The latest beta update also includes the following string: âGemini is a new AI assistant on your tablet. Get help learning in new ways, planning events, writing thank you notes, and more.â
The report also added that âsome features, like Extensions, arenât available in Live yet.â
