WhatsApp to soon roll out AR effects and filters for iPhone users

WhatsApp is reportedly rolling out an AR feature for call effects and filters for iPhone users . Previously exclusive to Android devices, these fun and interactive features will be for iOS users as well.
As reported by WABetaInfo, With this addition, WhatsApp brings a new level of personalisation and interactivity to video calls , making them definitely more engaging and fun.

As per the report, some beta testers can now explore new tools designed to enhance their video calling experience. One of the standout features is a selection of dynamic facial filters , enabling users to customise their appearance in real-time by adjusting the colour tone of their video feed. Additionally, WhatsApp has introduced a background editing tool that offers further personalisation options for video calls. This tool allows users to either blur their surroundings or replace them with pre-set backgrounds provided by WhatsApp.
Another notable feature is the low-light mode toggle, designed to enhance visibility in dimly lit environments. With a simple switch, users can improve the lighting quality of their video feed, ensuring clear communication even in the absence of sufficient natural light. This is particularly beneficial for evening calls or for those who often find themselves in low-light situations. Additionally, the touch-up mode offers a subtle filter to smooth out skin imperfections, giving users a more polished appearance during video calls.
“By offering tools like color filters, background editing, low-light mode, and touch-up mode, we believe that WhatsApp ensures that users have the ability to customize their video calls to suit any occasion, as these features cater to a wide range of needs, making it easier to adjust the visual mood of their communication,” adds the report.
